Food For Thought

Earlier today I tweeted a thought I had while I was walking through one of my local Windixies. Now that we have the App Store on the iPhone, and in the App Store we have select apps like: Tuner, Last.FM, and Pandora. So, with such powerful music apps, do we really need to fill our iPhones up with music?

Through the creative nature which is the Internet, I immediately got called a "dumbass" by a dude who tweets about once a minute. Although I offered a rebuttal, my friend couldn't back up his remark. Oh well.

Of course, I know it was slightly a retarded question, like asking a sailor to use a powerboat instead of a sailboat, but I have reason to believe that it was a completely legitimate question.

So, how about it? I think I could go a week without using the iPod app, and just using Tuner, Last.FM, and Pandora. Of course, as you can see from the picture above, my area is still in the stone age of EDGE, but, believe it or not, the apps work just fine.

Anyone dare oppose me?

I've always enjoyed the active discovery of music via apps like Pandora and Last.FM. Sometimes it's much more engaging than iPod listening.

And let's face it, when you have a buttload of music, sometimes it takes too long to figure out WHAT to listen to.

Your idea isn't too far out there, in fact I may give it a whirl for a week and see what comes out of the digital woodwork.

Great post.
